Upgrading the towpath

The canal towpath in Erdington is being upgraded. Hopefully the new tarmac will be more pleasant to walk on after heavy rain than the old track!

Seen in the Coventry Transport Museum this Humber Super Snipe was Montgomery's "victory car" which the Field Marshal used from D-Day onwards to the end of the war.

Liverpool's catholic cathedral, the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral (or Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King) built in the 1960s.

Bridgnorth

Bridgnorth is a lovely town in Shropshire, not only the HQ of the Severn Valley Railway but also home to a funicular railway that links the low and high parts of the town. Neither can be seen in this photograph however!

The canal near my house is having its towpath upgraded (which is a good thing as it becomes a quagmire after a bit of rain).

You can walk along the old battlements along part of the surviving city wall of York.

Coventry ring road

Like Birmingham Coventry is notorious for its road system especially its ring road which some call a concrete strait jacket on the city... but then again people need some means of getting to places don't they?!
